Cardiac Algorithm - Step 7
Perform non-invasive testing (e.g. exercise or pharmacologic stress testing) for coronary ischemia (ACC IIa).
What is the result?
Normal
- Non-emergency surgery
- No acute coronary syndrome
- Elevated risk surgery
- Poor/unknown functional capacity
- Normal stress test
- Proceed to operating room
Abnormal
- Non-emergency surgery
- No acute coronary syndrome
- Elevated risk surgery
- Poor/unknown functional capacityAbnormal stress test
- Consider angiography and revascularization depending on extent of abnormal test (ACC I)
- Then proceed to operating room according to guideline, with attention to timing of surgery after a cardiac intervention as best as possible, see Timing section
